This is some of the aftermath of yesterday’s fiber bender at Threadbear – some I cannot post for gifting reasons. I was like a junkie driving to that sale – cursing like a sailor at slow drivers and red lights and pulling into the parking lot like a speed demon and praying the cops weren’t [...]

ooh la la cha cha fini! and I see trouble
Last night, OLLCCC (AKA ooh la la cha cha cha scarf) was finished blocking and I put on the fringe – all 72 of them! I swear this process took longer than actually knitting the scarf and was also a challenge with this kind of yarn. I looked up and it was 12:30 am!

headline reads: woman impaled with needle, a knitters treatment plan, and ooh la la cha cha cha
You hear about the dangers of people falling asleep while smoking or with a burning candle or space heater, but this??? I fell asleep the other night and woke up to a stabbing pressure on my side after rolling over in bed to discover my bamboo needle lodged into me…is there a public service [...]

olympic standings, more snapping, team michigan, birdie’s story, and phone fiasco part II
TA DA!!!!!! One down and one to go and it fits perfect! I’ve discovered a few things about myself with knitting socks:
1) I like self patterning socks and I think it’s cool to have two socks with same colors and patterns that are not identical – more fitting with my personality.
2) Brittany needles in [...]

the sock verdict is in, olympic standings, my new best friend, and SNAP!
My name is Kristi, and I’m addicted to socks…..
I am totally hooked on them…I’ve joined the ranks…I can’t stop and I feel powerless to stop….I don’t know if it’s the self-patterning yarn, or the ability to knit to fit my feet, or the options for patterns – ribs, cables, stockinette…it’s like a little piece of [...]

what’s your knitting m.o.?
modus operandi
n. ‘method of operating or proceeding’
I recently stumbled across another medium for knitting – podcasts. In particular, I am very amused and entertained by Brenda Dayne’s podcast called Cast-on – if this qualifies me as even more than a knitting geek, than so be it!. One of her recent podcasts spoke of how she [...]
