Knitter Bunny, originally uploaded by reddogknits.
Well, it finally happened – Kelli of Knitter Bunny and host of the Dutchican Virtual Shower and I reunited in real life. Otis was quite fond of her and insisted on a photo to add to his portfolio. Face to face conversation which included a nice short-row tutorial on a napkin at Fiesta Charro was had. The internet is really quite a powerful invention – wish I had in graduate school – don’t even get me started about the zillions of trees that were killed as I made copies of microfiches for my thesis. Sadly, some of you who read this may not even know what a microfiche is. Plus, I walked uphill both ways in the chilling cold to get to the library.
Many of you have commented and asked about the chairs the boys are sitting on in my prior post. They are called Bumbo seats and you can get them at Target and Babies R Us. We can’t wait till these guys are able to hold their necks up for longer periods of time so mommy can knit again. Ready for this? Not one stitch knit in the last three days…one can only imagine what my poor little detoxifying brain is doing right now, I may require medical intervention.

I used to have a job working as a civilian on a Navy base in the “Microfiche Repository”
I’m pretty damn old!
No knitting in three days? Are you feeling weak yet?

I remember microfiche, my fav lost tech item? The IBM punch cards that crafty gals in the early 70’s would recycle in to X-mas wreathes. Yup, GOLD spray paint and plastic holly…oooohhh ahhhh!
Yikes!! no knitting in 3 days, I have had slumps before too, you’ll be back at it in no time.

I have heard only good things about those bumbo seats. I wish they had been around when my kids were babies … I totally would have bought one.
I’m glad you and Kelli had a fun visit.
Otis looks quite content there.

I’m older than you. I walked uphill 6 miles each way in blinding blizzards. Isn’t it good that we both survived to tell the tales? Hope to see you Wednesday at the usual hangout place. Even if it’s a little chilly and snowy out.

The babies are so cute in the bumbo seats and they are growing so much. If you want someone to commiserate with, I haven’t knit since my last day off, which was last Friday. So… that’s 3 days too.

It was great finally meeting you at Guild the other night-I would have told you sooner but I hopped on a plane the next AM and went to S.C. and Savannah , Ga. to visit my Marines and my granddaughter. I didn’t even take my knitting out of my suitcase!!! No knitting since that night at Guild. Can’t believe how those boys change in just a few days. If you think they are sucking the life out of you now-wait til they are 15-but at least then you can shower etc.-if you have your own bathroom that is!

I remember microfiche! I used to work at an independent bookstore and the availability of books at the distributer were printed weekly on microfiche.
