Great looking crew, eh? Kel, I’d keep a closer eye on that cake of yours.
The day was busy and the boys put a little spin on the plans, but I think I can safely say that the first annual (?) Knitterpalooza was a resounding success. I haven’t seen solo cups since college and let’s just say that Amanda kept my cup full. What is a little different than the college years is that I have to wake up with a hangover at 5am to screaming children (who are these children and why do they keep calling me mama?) rather than a early morning class where I can still wear my pj’s and munch on stale Captain Crunch. Note to self – Detroit knitter’s like the sauce! Amby, did you guys ever raid our neighbor’s trampoline? Thanks for being my co-hostess and partner in crime.

Animals were loved (hey Larjmarj!)

Handknit socks were worn (and ankle warmers) and El-Tigre made his appearance.

Appreciation was shown (thanks Dana and Amanda) and thanks Marcia for my vino (my twin of another mother – so glad to FINALLY hook up!)

New friend, old friends, and a grilling experience that left me with a burn to fondly remember – who knew a veg-head could grill up such carnivore delights? There were other new moms, celebrity knitters, designers, foolish knitters, Mid East knitwear designers, soap crafters, grandmas who curse, and grandmas who wear pretty entrelac sweaters. There was a knitter who always seems to have cookies wherever they go, a knitter who laughs off me calling them Tonya when they really are named Toya, knitters with birthdays, a knitter who modeled their first handknit sweater, and a knitter who makes some cool coasters.
Special thanks to Threadbear and Rae’s and all the artists and shops who donated doorprizes. Thanks also to Kelli who came early and stayed late to set up and break down. Thanks to all the knitters who helped, brought yummy food, and lent me a hand whenever I needed it – you guys all rock! (by the by, if you ever need someone to keep the guacamole bowl full at the table, I’ve got your girl)
Those who are asking about if this will be an annual tradition – just let me know where to yarn crawl and what are the quickest directions to get to your backyard? I’ll bring a dish to pass.

Those cookies that follow me to knitting events probably have something to do with the size of my arse!! But I will keep bringing them as long as we keep Knitapalooza going and trips to the Harlot in the mix.
I think we need buttons or shirts or something for next year. Maybe someone has an “in” with someone.
I see a bigger committee next year-and I would be glad to help on said committee. Now that the word is out ,knitters will be coming from everywhere!
Thanks Kristi for hosting the 1st annual Knitapalooza-You worked really hard and did a bang up job so you can pass the crown to the next host(we’ll need a crown). Who’s up to hosting??

You give great party, Kristi! Thanks again to you, and to Amby for organizing. And everyone who came, especially if you had to drive more than 10 miles. Knitters will rule the world, don’tcha think?

Shifts, bezzie; lots of shifts! I think there were 10 people in there at one point — but still no one stepped on Spence, who had decided he *needed* some floor time… lol Kristy — that was an awesome time!!! I’d host next year, but we’d have to crawl different yarn stores…

I tried to warn you!!! When you asked me “Do you think anyone else will be drinking?” I laughed for about five minutes. Remember that? I do feel bad about your hangover, though. Kinda.
Thank you for being such a wonderful perfect hostess!!!!!!

I’m so glad I got to be a part of Knitterpalooza! Next time I’ll take the whole day off so I can be in the fun all day long.
Yeah, that cake was almost snatched up by little miss Maslow, but we caught it.
Ooh and you got a cookie bouquet! Those are yummy!

Yes Sue, I was there.. My above comment was smart assicle in nature. I was the one who thought it sounded like a knitting porn site of a bad speller. Now everybody, leave me alone. I’m trying to write a post over here.

Is that Otis in one of the photos being a party animal or is he looking for future modelling gigs?

Glad you guys had a great time! Maybe next year I’ll be able to come meet everybody!

I’d offer my backyard, but does everyone really want to drive to Southern Indiana?
