This tunic length sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up using alternating pattern-row repeats of stockinette and reverse stockinette for an appearance of textured stripes.  There is a ribbed open V-placket collar finished with a hood trimmed to complement the body and sleeves.  Sleeves are knit in the round following the same stitch pattern as the body and the natural rolled hems make for a relaxed feel.  Tips are included to extend the wear for a growing child.  The sweater is written to include 4 inches of ease.

Finished Chest Measurements:  23 (25.25, 27.5, 29.75, 31.5, 33.25) inches.

Finished Length:  16 (17, 18, 19.25, 21.5, 22.5) inches.

Materials:  Cascade Sierra 1 skein (all sizes) of cable band color and 2(2, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins of main color.  1 skein = 191 yards.

Needles:  24 in. circular needles US 5 and US 7, double pointed needles sized US 7, or sizes required to get gauge.  You may also use 32 inch circular for larger sizes when joining body to sleeves before the raglan deceases.

Other Materials:  Cable needle, scrap yarn, stitch markers in different colors, tapestry needle, and tape measure.

Gauge:  18 sts = 4 inches on size US 7 needles, stockinette stitch.

This sweater is knit first by completing the cable band that runs horizontally around the body, turning that sideways, and picking up stitches on each side of the center cable band working top-down for the body and bottom-up for the upper body.  The sleeves are knit in the round and joined with the upper body stitches with raglan decreases, and the project is finished with a rolled neck.
